I love cooking this dish with pick your own fruit, so freeze them when in season to save for the winter month.
6 eating apples
200g/7oz frozen blackberries
for the cobbler
70g/2 ½ oz plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
40g/1 ½ oz ground almonds
½ tsp ground cinnamon
50g/2oz maple brown sugar
100ml/4fl oz greek yoghurt
70g/2 ½ oz butter, melted
pinch of salt
1/5 litre dish
for the topping – handful of flaked almonds
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
Peel, core and quarter the apples and put then in a saucepan with 3-4 tbsp of water and simmer for 3-4 mins.
Spread then on the bottom of an ovenproof dish and top with the blackberries, pour the maple syrup over.
Put all the cobbler ingredients into a mixing bowl and give a good stir.
Spoon the batter on top of the fruit and sprinkle with whole almonds
Bake for 30 mins until the top is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
